COCA ONION DAY and all that….. a community celebration of all things oniony!
April 30th at Caerhys Farm in the new Carfref straw building
from 10am onwards….til about 4pm
All welcome… including friends, family, neighbours, and most particularly COCA MEMBERS!!!
Free to members; donation requested from non-members.
Entertainment : for kids and others: . Colouring eggs and dying wool. Poetry and songs competition. Make a “bug hotel” for the field … and take a small one home.
Cookery : bring along your best onion dish … a tasting competition. Cookery demo, slicing races. Bring along your best recipe for inclusion in our COCA recipe collection. Campfire cooking (weather permitting) of flat-breads and onion … things (?)
Shared lunch : 1-2pm :bring along food to share … (doesnt need to be onion-related!!)
Games : anyone for Rounders? ….. at the end of the day
Field Work : and spend an hour or so helping to plant out the 2016 onion seedlings into the COCA Field. Rota board to sign up for 1 1/2 hour slots from 10.30 onwards.
